Our People
The world has a large, virtually endless, supply of people who can answer phones, deal with the public, and yes, fix cars. That said, people who can function with true distinction, intelligence, passion and integrity are increasingly rare in modern life. Our team is a truly singular group of people who take pride in their work, think about what they do, care for the customer, and define the standard for work ethic. They are the heart of Slipstream, and the sum is greater than its parts. This is who we are in our own words:
Bill Pichardo
Founder and owner, 1981 to present.
Born on a farm in New Jersey and grew up in the East. Fell instantly in love with Colorado on first visit in 1967 and moved here in 1981.

Left a career position at Swarthmore college (which I loved!) to start a business and live in Colorado.

Lifelong motorsports enthusiast. Have built and driven race cars since 1961 in such sports as go karts, pro rally, autocross and road racing, in environments ranging from the Canadian winter rally to Pike’s Peak Hill Climb. Moderately successful racing career: the older I get the faster I am! Will bore you with details if you wish...

Lifelong animal lover, currently have two wonderful happy dogs and one grumpy cat.

Enjoy restoring and driving collectible cars from the 50s and 60s — a high water mark in my opinion before the discovery of environmental damage and the end of innocence.

In spite of the above, environmentally conscious since high school, when my mother co-founded the first recycling center in the state of New Jersey, and had me stomping on tin cans in the acme parking lot in Flemington, New Jersey in 1965.

I love what I do, adore the people I work with, and when my alarm goes off at 5 a.m., I sit up in bed and look forward to going to work!

Matt Crawford
Business Manager and customer service, 2001 to present.
I’m usually the first person you see when you walk in the door or talk to with on the phone, so here is a little bit more about me. I am one of the few Boulder natives left, born at Community Hospital here in town. I have lived all my life in the Boulder area graduating from Boulder High in 1988. I currently live in Lafayette with my son and four cats. Most of my family lives in the surrounding area with exception of my three beautiful daughters, who live in Roscoe, South Dakota. They have been there for three years with their mother.

Most of my adult work life has been in retail management, not in the auto industry, which is a good thing. That is where I met Bill, which is the best thing to have happened to me while working in retail. In November of 2002 I began to work at Slipstream part-time for a couple of years before I became the fixture upfront. My years of retail experience has taught me that the customer comes first and everything else comes second. I believe that, with our expert technicians, we have a perfect team. Every day at work is a joy due our customers and employees, and I hope it shows.

When I’m not working, most of my free time is spent with my kids, whether it’s swimming, playing football or doing school projects with my 11 year-old son Jerry, to traveling to see my daughters. My oldest daughter Madison is 9, Maia, by brown eyed cutie will be 8 in June, and my youngest and most “spirited” is my 4 year-old Carlee. I also enjoying lifting weights. I used to compete in bodybuilding but now I lift just for fun. I love to be outdoors, hiking, gardening, biking and lots of camping.

Ken Pike
Lead Technician, 1995 to present.
Colorado native.
I grew up in Boulder and have spent most of my life in Colorado on the Front Range with seven years in the mountains. I enjoy Colorado's outdoor activities — climbing and telemark skiing.

I have been at Slipstream since 1995 and have been repairing cars for over 30 years. I am Slipstream's token non-Audi boy!

I am an avid motorsports enthusiast and am a Sports Car Club of America member and racer.

Gunther Rau
Technician, 1997 to present.
Master Certified Hybrid Technician.
Born June 1, 1967 on a ranch in clear creek county Colorado — native born and still here! Big animal lover, I have two dogs, three cats and big fish tank. I really don’t know why I still have the fish! I am enthusiastic about motorcycles, and started buying, fixing, and riding dirt bikes at the age of 10. I rode them wherever — trails and streets. Made a rule for myself: no street bikes for me! I now ride a big, fast dirt bike with a license plate as a commuter… it’s not a street bike! I like to spend my free time in the outdoors and the wilderness. It’s best when you backpack in to a hard-to-get-to place with no other people around for miles. Remote control airplanes are another hobby of mine: I build them, fly them, and crash them. It’s not as easy as it looks. Between two periods at slipstream, I worked as an electrician for several years in many areas of the field, then two years wiring, building, and servicing robotics.
Jean Hillaire Rejouis
Technician, 2010 to present.
I was born and raised in Haiti. I have been working with cars with my dad since I was a little boy. After my high school graduation, I studied auto mechanics for three years and went to business school for two years. I moved to Colorado in 2009. I studied English at the University of Colorado and took some night classes at CU Boulder. Currently I live in Boulder and I work at Slipstream to serve the community and the surrounding areas. I’m passionate of what I do and so happy to work at Slipstream.
Kathy Bradley
Administrative/Data Entry/Bookkeeping, 2008 to present.
I have worked for Slipstream for three years as the the administrative assistant and doing data entry. I spent more than thirty years before that in the medical field doing patient care including both X-Ray and administrative duties.

I like my current job: it's 180 degrees from the stress of the medical field and a whole different way of communicating. People put their cars on a far different level from their bodies, talking about what needs to be done, should be done, or just pull the plug is a much easier conversation to have about a car than it will ever be about a person.
